thank you for visiting studio lia karras. my name is lia. i believe that thoughtfully selected art should be present in everyone's daily experience. colour, texture and art created by human hands is a critical part of our existence. i created this studio to narrow the gap between artists and designers by creating handwoven textile art made with reclaimed and reimagined materials.

i've always found beauty in well made objects that are true to their materials and true to their use. through this studio i endeavour to contribute something functional, beautiful and honest.

lia karras studied interior design and furniture making in toronto. she worked as an interior designer for over ten years in the residential, commercial, healthcare and aviation sectors. she has been weaving since 2014. she currently lives in winnipeg.
